DENTON, Texas (July 15, 2025) – The Texas Woman's University soccer team is set for the upcoming fall season, aiming to revamp, reload and recharge for a strong run after a challenging 2024 campaign. The Pioneers officially announced their 2025 regular season schedule.
"We're excited about the upcoming season," Head Coach Babak Abouzar said. "We have a tough non-conference slate of games that will get us ready for the always competitive LSC."
TWU opens the season on the road in Ada, Okla., facing East Central at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Tiger Soccer Field. ECU won last season's opener, but TWU holds a 9-6-1 all-time advantage and looks to return to the win column. The Pioneers will return home for back-to-back games at Pioneer Soccer Park, hosting Mississippi College on Saturday, Sept. 6, and Southern Nazarene on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Next, TWU heads to Shawnee, Okla., to take on Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. The non-conference finale offers a chance for the Pioneers to break a 3-3 all-time series tie against the Bison.
Lone Star Conference play begins on Wednesday, Sept. 17, when TWU welcomes West Texas A&M to Denton for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Pioneers have won two straight against the Lady Buffs and aim to extend that streak. Following the conference opener, Texas Woman's will hit the road for matches against Sul Ross State and St. Mary's.
Coach Abouzar and the Pioneers return home to close out September with a key conference matchup against Midwestern State on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. TWU then hosts Eastern New Mexico on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The Pioneers continue conference play on the road with back-to-back trips to UT Tyler on Saturday, Oct. 4 and UT Permian Basin on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
In their return to Pioneer Soccer Park, TWU will host Texas A&M International and Dallas Baptist on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Wednesday, Oct. 15, respectively. The Pioneers hold a 5-0-2 all-time advantage over the Dustdevils and will look to avenge a pair of 2024 losses to DBU.
In the final stretch of regular-season road play, TWU will travel to face UT Dallas, a new addition to the Lone Star Conference, as well as Lubbock Christian and Oklahoma Christian.
TWU concludes the regular season at home with two games against St. Edward's and defending LSC champion Angelo State. The Pioneers host the Hilltoppers for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 1, and the Rambelles on Tuesday, Nov. 4. TWU defeated SEU in penalty kicks during the 2024 LSC Tournament quarterfinals and fell to Angelo State during the regular season.
The Lone Star Conference Tournament begins on Tuesday, Nov. 11, as the Pioneers aim for their third straight postseason appearance.
