DENTON, Texas (Sept. 3, 2025) – A new season brings new goals, renewed energy, and a huge sense of unity for the Texas Woman's soccer team as they prepare to open their 2025 campaign.
With a veteran core leading the charge and a mindset rooted in growth, the Pioneers are chasing something bigger.
"Going into my senior season it is about more than just results," senior defender Mia Thaxton said. "It's about setting the tone, leading with a purpose, pushing myself and my teammates, and most importantly making the most of every second we have together. This team is special, and we're devoted to chasing something bigger."
That "something bigger" echoes across the team, as preseason training has been marked by intensity and a shared commitment to raising the bar.
"We've raised the standard for ourselves," Bri Luna said. "What excites me most about this season is the unity we have as a team. When we step on the field, we play for each other and that's our biggest strength. This season we're determined to play with purpose, passion, and pride."
From seasoned veterans to rising leaders, the team's identity is grounded in selflessness, drive, and belief.
"We want to grow as a team, give our all, and play free," Erica Brelove said. "We'll stay hungry and never be satisfied with just one goal. Win or lose, we do it together—because we play for each other, not just ourselves."
After falling just shy of the NCAA tournament in 2024, the Pioneers are using that experience as fuel as they are determined to take the next step and get to that next they they desire
"This season is my last chapter here, and I want to write it with heart and gratitude," senior midfielder Celeste Beltran said. "Every time I step on the field, it's for the team beside me and the love of the game that's carried me this far. We're working every day to earn another chance at the NCAA tournament. When the final whistle blows, I want to know I gave everything for a goal bigger than myself."
The countdown is over and the vision is clear. This team is ALL IN.
