RICHARDSON, Texas (Feb. 16, 2026) - After recording back-to-back double-doubles for the second consecutive week, senior forward Gabby Elliott earned her third Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
In games against Oklahoma Christian and Cameron, Elliott averaged 13.5 points and 13 rebounds per game, adding 3.5 assists and 2.5 blocks. She helped Texas Woman's University hold its opponents to a combined 24.6% shooting from the field, including an 18.8% mark by Cameron on Saturday, the lowest field-goal percentage by an LSC team in a game this season.
The two victories extended Elliott's double-double streak to four games and gave her 12 on the year.
Elliott ranks fifth in the LSC in scoring at 16.4 points per game and leads the conference with 11.3 rebounds per contest, a mark that ranks among the top 10 in NCAA Division II. She is third in the conference in field-goal percentage (54.1%) and second in blocked shots per game (1.7).
"Gabby continues to separate herself in the Lone Star Conference because of her consistency and toughness," said TWU Basketball Head Coach Beth Jillson. "She's been a dominant defender and rebounder in our league all season. Her motor, physicality, and will to pursue the ball set the tone for our team, and this recognition is a reflection of the impact she makes on both ends of the floor."
