DENTON, Texas (Feb. 3, 2026) – The Texas Woman's basketball team claimed two wins last week, including a Top 10 win over West Texas A&M.
Following their wins, the Pioneers remain ranked No. 3 in the
Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Poll.
TWU is currently on an 17-game win streak. They are 12-0 in the LSC and 11-0 on the road.
The Pioneers rank second in scoring in the LSC, averaging 72.6 points per game. They rank second in defense, holding opponents to 57.3 points per game. On average, the Pioneers are defeating their opponents by 15.4 points, which ranks second in the LSC. TWU leads the LSC in team field goal percentage with a 45.9% from the field – a mark which ranks eighth in NCAA Division II. The Pioneers also rank first in free throw percentage, shooting 75.9% from the charity stripe. TWU ranks third in lowest average of opponent rebounds, allowing 32.4 rebounds per game. Additionally, they rank third in rebounding margin, out-rebounding their opponent by 5.2 per game. They also rank third in assist-to-turnover ratio at 0.98 per game.
From the LSC, West Texas A&M (19-2) fell one spot to No. 7, and Lubbock Christian (16-4) moved up to No. 20. Fellow South Central Region opponent, Colorado Mesa (22-1) moved up two spots to No. 4 this week.
Grand Valley State (20-0) remained at No. 1, and Minnesota State Mankato (22-0) held steady at No. 2.
