DENTON, Texas (Feb. 4, 2026) – For the second straight week,
Sophia Isbell earned two Midwest Independent Conference Weekly Awards.
After two great performances this past week, Isbell earned MIC Gymnast of the Week and Performance of the Week honors.
"Isbell continues to be a rock for this team," said TWU Gymnastics Head Coach
Lisa Bowerman. "No matter the situation, the day, the arena—she is always poised and confident in her performances and always gives the best for her team. She is a truly remarkable individual both in and out of the gym, so it is extremely rewarding to see her recognized by our conference again this week."
Last week, the Pioneers competed in two meets in California. In their dual meet against UC Davis on Jan. 30, Isbell competed on vault, beam and floor. She claimed her second straight event title on vault with a 9.800. Additionally, she tied for the event title on floor with a 9.850, which matched her career high. On beam, Isbell scored a 9.725 to finish second on the event.
