WEDNESDAY MATINEE GAME DAY SET FOR PIONEERS VS. ENMU

DENTON, Texas (Sept. 20, 2022) – It's matinee game day at Pioneer Soccer Park tomorrow for the Texas Woman's soccer team.

TWU (1-4-2, 1-0-1) will look to earn three points tomorrow and continue to rise in the Lone Star Conference, as they face Eastern New Mexico (2-5, (0-2) on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. at home.

The Pioneers are coming off a draw on Saturday against Texas A&M International, and the Greyhounds most recently lost 3-0 against St. Edward's on the road.

  • FIND A WAY: The Pioneers have scored four goals this season, two at Pioneer Soccer Park. Three of the four goals have been the first goals of a player's career: Dylann Vollaro, Abby Powers and Bri Luna. The Pioneers will look for every player to step up and connect with the back of the net to get a win on Wednesday afternoon.
  • SAVE THE DAY: The Pioneers starting goalkeeper, Morgan Sherman, faced 19 shots (seven on frame) on Saturday afternoon. She recorded six saves in the draw. On the season, Sherman has recorded 32 saves, which is tied for 45th in the nation and seventh in the LSC. She ranks third in the conference in saves per game with 4.57. Sherman will look to have a great game and record a shutout on Wednesday afternoon at home.
  • LOOK BACK: Last season, the Pioneers defeated the Greyhounds 1-0 on the road in Portales, New Mexico. All time, TWU has gone 15-9-3 against ENMU. The Pioneers home record is 8-3-1.
