DENTON, Texas (Jan. 23, 2025) – Thursday night was a record night in Kitty Magee Arena for the Texas Woman's basketball team.
TWU (18-1, 11-1) recorded their second 30-point victory of the season, defeating West Texas A&M (13-6, 7-5), 87-55.
In the win, the Pioneers were led by
Scout Huffman, who went a perfect 8-for-8 from the field – the third time this season going perfect from the field and sixth time in her career. However, it did mark the first time in her career to go in the TWU record book for highest field goal percentage in a game, as eight made shots is the minimum. She became just the third Pioneer to go a perfect 8-for-8 from the field or better and the first since 2011.
Huffman finished with 18 points on the night and with those 18 points, she officially moved into seventh in points all-time in TWU program history.
Ashley Ingram added another record on the way to the victory, as Ingram scored 10 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out a career high 10 assists to record her first career triple-double and become just the third Pioneer in program history to record a triple-double and the first Pioneer to accomplish the feat since 2005.
The Pioneers claimed their tenth win all-time against the Lady Buffs and third win in a row, marking the longest win streak against WT in program history. The 32-point victory also marked the largest margin of victory over the Lady Buffs in program history.
