FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 14, 2025) – This Valentine's Day, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team will be traveling down the road to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the Metroplex Challenge.

TWU will meet California and Utah State on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Most recently, TWU set a season high at Arizona State of a 195.225. It will mark just the third road meet for the Pioneers in 2025.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

• LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS: Cal most recently competed on the road at No. 13 Stanford, claiming the win 197.550 to 197.400, which marked a season high. The Golden Bears currently rank seventh on Road to Nationals, including fifth in bars and third on floor. Utah State currently ranks 32nd overall. Their highest ranking is 22nd on beam. They have a season high score of 196.000 on Jan. 20 at the Best of Utah Meet.
• HISTORY: The Pioneers have only competed against Cal once in program history in Norman, Okla. in 2016. TWU has met Utah State four times. Most recently, the Pioneers traveled to Logan, Utah to compete against the Aggies in a Quad Meet. At that meet, Daisy Woodring set a program record on vault of a 9.950. The Pioneers finished the meet with a 195.425. The two teams also met in 2024 in Norman, Okla. at a Quad Meet hosted by Oklahoma. The Pioneers scored a 194.575.
• STAND OUTS LAST MEET: Freshman Alaina Reid competed in three events for the Pioneers and scored a 9.7000 or higher in all three, setting career high marks on bars and beam. She was named the Co-MIC Newcomer of the Week. Kaitlyn Hoiland also competed on vault, bears and beam, scoring a 9.800 or higher in all three events. She finished tied for first in bars with a 9.875. Sophie Hernandez posted a career high on beam of a 9.850. Sophia Isbell matched her career high on floor with a 9.825, and Kami Zarlengo matched her career high on bars with a 9.825. The Pioneers currently rank 49th on Road to Nationals with their highest ranking being 36th on vault.
