DENTON, Texas (Feb. 18, 2025) - In week two of the Lone Star Conference STUNT Athlete of the Week awards, sophomore Kyla Clark was named LSC Tumbler of the Week.

"Kyla is such a fierce competitor, and I love to see her passion come out on the mat during games!" head coach Jasmine Owens said. "She has beautiful jumps and works tirelessly to continue improving her technique every week."

This is Clark's first time winning this honor. She joins Jocelyn Dennie as the only Pioneers to receive the weekly award. Dennie won it for the second time in her career in week one, earning Stunter of the Week. Clark helped lead the Pioneers to a 3-1 record at the Oklahoma Baptist Tournament this past weekend, with wins over No. 13 Drury, No. 17 Southern Nazarene, and Missouri State.

In four games played, Clark finished with a power rank of 100 and competed in 72 rounds, winning 52 of them.

Next up, TWU will host their home tournament next weekend in Kitty Magee Arena for the second time in program history. The tournament features six other competitors, including Centenary, Connors, Southern Nazarene, St. Edward's, St. Mary's, and Texas A&M-Kingsville.

The Pioneers' first matchup will be a rematch against St. Mary's on Friday, Feb. 28. The Rattlers was TWU's only loss this past weekend in Shawnee, Okla. The matchup will be the opener of the two-day tournament and is set to start at 11 a.m. in KMA.
