A journey as fun and incredible as the one this Texas Woman's basketball team has been on – you never want to end. From the games, to the hype, to the good times and tough times, this team transformed a university and city. Through the game of basketball, the Pioneers inspired others to be resilient, to meet hard head-on and to pursue excellence in all you do.
This season. This team. – unforgettable. Even though this loss hurts, it does not diminish the history this team has made and the incredible impact they have made.
TWU closes the season with 33 wins and just two losses. They claimed their third straight Lone Star Conference Regular Season Title and second straight LSC Tournament Title. They set a new record for most consecutive wins in a season with 27. They broke the program record for free throw percentage in a season, shooting 78% from the charity stripe, which broke the former record of 77.6% set last season. The Pioneers also broke the record for lowest opponent field goal percentage in season, holding teams to just 34.8% throughout the season – breaking the former record of 35.3% which was set during the 2015-16 season. They also set the program record for fewest losses in a season with two.

Ashley Ingram set the program record in points and rebounds. Coach
Beth Jillson claimed her 300th career win.

On Monday night, the Pioneers fell in the South Central Regional Championship game to the No. 2 seed Lubbock Christian, 62-54. After a slow start to the game, the Pioneers claimed the lead heading into halftime and maintained the advantage throughout the third; nevertheless, the fourth quarter proved to be the difference maker.
The first quarter closed 8-7 with TWU leading. Then, in the second quarter, the Pioneers closed with a 6-0 run.
Jada Celsur connected on a buzzer beater three to close the first half and send TWU into halftime with a 26-19 lead. TWU would lead by just three points heading into the fourth quarter before LCU would outscore the Pioneers 26-16 in the final quarter of action.
TWU shot 37.5% from the field and connected on just one three. They scored 30 points in the paint and had 19 bench points. The Pioneers held the Lady Chaps to 36.4% from the field, but they connected on seven threes. They Lady Chaps scored 26 points in the paint and just seven bench points.
Ingram led the Pioneers with 20 points. She added seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Scout Huffman scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Ariyanna Hines and
Jada Celsur both dished out three assists. Hines also added four rebounds.
