DENTON, Texas (March 4, 2025) - Junior Anna Cheek has been named the Lone Star Conference STUNT Tumbler of the Week for Week four, marking the first time in her career she has earned the honor.
"Anna has been working tirelessly to improve her technique this year," said head coach Jasmine Owens. "I'm extremely proud of the way she leads both on and off the mat for this team."
Cheek joins teammates Jocelyn Dennie and Kyla Clark as Pioneers to earn the weekly award this season. Dennie was named LSC Tumbler of the Week in Week 1, and Clark earned the honor in Week 2. Cheek played a pivotal role in leading the Pioneers to a perfect 5-0 record at their home tournament this past weekend, which included three LSC victories over No. 10 St. Mary's, No. 20 Texas A&M-Kingsville, and No. 23 St. Edward's.
She finished as the team's MVP after five games, posting a power rank of 153 and an overall tumbling rank of 96.
The Pioneers will next travel to Austin, Texas, for the St. Edward's Tournament on Friday, March 7. TWU will face Ottawa University (Arizona) on Friday and will take on Dallas Baptist and host St. Edward's on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m., respectively.Â
