SHREVEPORT, La. (April 13, 2025) – The final routines of the 2025 season. It's a day when you compete all for the joy of the sport, the love of the journey and to give your all one final time.
After celebrating a team Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship (WCGNIC) National Championship last night, the Pioneers celebrated another National Champion today.
Kaitlyn Hoiland adds an Individual National Champion honor to her historic resume as a Pioneer, as she claimed the title on the uneven bars.
Today, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team closed the 2025 season in the 2025 WCGNIC Individual Event Finals. The Pioneers had eight competitors in the finals.
On vault,
Sophia Isbell shone brightly in her final vault of the season and scored a 9.7625 to place fourth in the event. In the final vault of her collegiate career,
Trinity Caffey competed with joy and scored a 9.7875 to finish third. Hoiland was the final competitor for TWU. She competed her historical vault one final time and scored a 9.800 to finish as the National Runner-Up – her second straight year earning this honor.
Three Pioneers also competed on balance beam.
Steelie King, in the final routine of her amazing collegiate career, led off the beam rotation and scored a 9.775 to finish fourth on beam. Following King, Upton also competed on beam. She was all smiles as she competed her final beam routine of her freshman season. Finally,
Sophie Hernandez was the last beam competitor of the day. She followed up her career high last night with another incredible performance and scored a 9.8375 to finish as the National Runner-Up.
Caroline Bowns started off the bars rotation. She left it all on the mat and scored a 9.6375. Hoiland competed in the second rotation on bars. Her routine was full of joy and bittersweet feelings, as she capped off an amazing collegiate career with a National Champion Title. She scored a 9.850 to tie with Fisk's Morgan Price to earn the National Champion honor.
On the floor exercise,
Sophie Hernandez rocked her routine and scored a 9.850 to finish fourth in the event. Then, Upton capped off her phenomenal freshman season with a career high in her last routine of a 9.875.
Kyleigh Ghanbari closed her incredible first season at TWU with a strong routine.
It was a day of celebration and in the Gold Dome to close a historic 2025 season for TWU Gymnastics.
