FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Jan. 20, 2025) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team travels to the University of Arkansas for their first away meet of the 2025 season on Monday.
TWU opened their 2025 season with two meets at home in Kitty Magee Arena. In their season opener on Jan. 12, they scored a 194.000 to set a program record for highest score in a season opener. Then, on Jan. 17, they scored a season high of a 194.875.
On Monday, Jan. 20, the Pioneers will meet Arkansas and Denver in a Tri-Meet, hosted by Arkansas, at 2 p.m. in Bud Walton Arena.

MARCH IN
- A LOOK BACK: The Pioneers have not competed in Fayetteville since the 2019 season. However, TWU did host Arkansas last season in KMA on Feb. 19. In that meeting, the Pioneers scored a 195.725 and Arkansas scored a 197.375. TWU last met Denver during the 2023 season in Denver, Colo. for their 2023 season opener. The Pioneers highest score against Denver came at a neutral site meeting on Feb. 26, 2021 in Norman, Okla. when the Pioneers scored a 193.650.
- NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: Last week, graduate student Kaitlyn Hoiland was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week, and she earned the MIC Performance of the Week honor. In TWU's season opener, Hoiland placed first on vault, beam and bars. Hoiland made history by becoming the first Pioneer in program history to compete a Yurchenko 1 1/2 on vault. She scored a 9.800 in her first competition. In their last meet, Caroline Bowns claimed the event win on bars and beam, scoring 9.800's on both event. The 9.800 on beam marked a career high for Bowns. Trinity Caffey currently holds the Pioneers' season high on vault with a 9.850.
- FANTASTIC FRESHMEN: The Pioneers have also celebrated notable performances from freshmen. Kyleigh Ghanbari scored a 9.875 in her floor debut on Jan. 12. Alaina Reid scored a career high 9.775 on vault on Jan. 17, and Bailey Upton scored a career high 9.850 on floor and a 9.800 on her vault debut on Jan. 17.
