DENTON, Texas (Feb. 12, 2025) – The Texas Woman's basketball returns home to Kitty Magee Arena on Thursday night for Lone Star Conference action against Texas A&M International.
TWU (23-1, 16-1) will meet TAMIU (5-18, 4-13) for the second time this season. The two teams first met on Saturday, Jan. 18 in Laredo, Texas, and the Pioneers claimed the win, 68-48.
Last week, TWU defeated St. Edward's, 69-52, and St. Mary's, 58-45, on the road. On the other side, the Dustdevils played on the road and fell at Cameron, 80-53, and at Oklahoma Christian, 71-61.

PARTY IN KMA!
- LAST MEETING: In the first meeting this season, the Pioneers claimed the win in Laredo, Texas. Ashley Ingram led the way with 17 points on 5-9 from the field. Scout Huffman went 6-8 from the field for 16 points in the win. She led the Pioneers on the boards with seven. The Pioneers only turned over the ball eight times and forced TAMIU to turn the ball over 20 times for 23 TWU points.
- DEFENSE IS KEY: The Pioneers are currently holding their opponents to 50.2 points per game, which ranks first in the LSC and sixth in Division II. They have held their opponents to 55 or less points in the last 17 straight games. They have held their opponent to under 50 points in 12 games this season. They hold their opponents on average to 33.9% from the field, which is the lowest in the LSC and fourth lowest in Division II. The Pioneers defense propels their offense and has led to their success this season.
- RAINING FREE THROWS: The Pioneers are shooting 78.1% from the free throw line on the season, which ranks first in the LSC and 13th in Division II. Scout Huffman leads the Pioneers, 31-of-31, from the charity stripe. Caroline Glud Rasmussen is also 100% from the free throw line, 6-of-6, and Ahrianna Morgan is 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.
