CLEMSON, S.C. (Feb. 28, 2025) – In their first road meet at Clemson, the Pioneers posted two strong closing rotations, including a season high on floor.
TWU scored a 193.975 in the Tri Meet at Clemson. The Pioneers claimed the win over New Hampshire, who scored a 192.325. Clemson claimed the win in their home arena with a 195.825.
The Pioneers started off the day on the uneven bars.
Bailey Bourgeois started off the afternoon with a 9.675.
Kami Zarlengo and
Brooke Ferrari matched Bourgeois's score, as they both scored 9.675's. In the anchor spot,
Kaitlyn Hoiland tied for fifth place in the meet with a 9.775.
After scoring a 48.325 in the opening rotation, TWU went to beam for the second rotation. Freshman
Bailey Upton posted a big score to open the rotation, as she matched her career high with a 9.775. She tied for third in the meet. In the fourth spot,
Steelie King followed in Upton's footsteps with a 9.775 to also tie for third. King and Upton both led the Pioneers on the beam, as TWU scored a 47.500 in the second rotation.
TWU responded strong in the third rotation and posted a season high 49.175 on floor. Upton continued her strong day and opened the third rotation with a 9.825 to post another third place finish. Zarlengo continued the strong performances, as she matched her career high with a 9.775. In the third spot,
Trinity Caffey returned to the floor lineup with a season high 9.850, which also matched her career high. The 9.800 scores kept coming as the floor party continued.
Sophia Isbell also matched her career high with a 9.825. In the fifth spot,
Sophie Hernandez scored a season high 9.875. Kyleigh Ghanabri closed the strong floor rotation with a 9.800.
Following their fantastic floor rotation, the Pioneers closed the meet on vault with a 48.975.
Alaina Reid opened the final rotation with a career high 9.800. Upton ended her strong day with a 9.775. In the third spot for the Pioneers,
Steelie King scored a 9.700. Caffey posted a 9.750. Isbell and Hoiland closed the night with a pair of 9.800's. Isbell scored a 9.800, and Hoiland tied for third in the meet with a season high 9.850.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Sunday, March 9 in Kitty Magee Arena for Senior Day on March 9 at 4 p.m.
