AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 6, 2025) – On Feb. 6, the Texas Woman's basketball team recorded their 16th straight win and 15th straight game holding their opponent to 55 or less points.
TWU (22-1, 15-1) claimed their second win of the season over SEU (10-14, 6-8) on Thursday night in Austin, Texas, defeating the Hilltoppers 69-52.
Ashley Ingram led the Pioneers with 22 points and matched her career high with 17 rebounds.
The 17-point victory marked TWU's 17th double-digit win of the season. On average, the Pioneers are defeating their opponents by 18.2 points, which ranks first in the Lone Star Conference and 10th in Division II.
IMPACT PLAYERS
	- To her game-leading 22 points and 17 rebounds, Ingram also added three assists and two steals. It marked the ninth double-double of the season for Ingram. 
- Jada Celsur joined Ingram in double-digits with 12 points, and she added two rebounds. On her way to 12 points, Celsur went 3-of-3 from the field and 2-of-2 from the three point line.
- Gabby Elliott finished with a strong night on the boards, closing the 40 minutes with seven rebounds and adding one assist and six points.
- Ariyanna Hines and Leila Patel both finished with seven points.
- Kayla Glover led the assist column with four on the night and the steal column with three. Kleinhans joined her at the top of the steal column with three steals.
- Caroline Glud Rasmussen continued her perfect streak from the charity stripe, going 2-for-2 in the game.
PIONEER POWER MOMENTS
	- The Pioneers shot 44.3% from the field. On the season, they average 45.3% from the field, which ranks first in the LSC and 15th in Division II.
- TWU scored 32 points in the paint, 15 second-chance points and the bench contributed 25 points. On defense, the Pioneers held the Hilltoppers to 31.4% from the field but allowed them to shoot 7-of-12 from beyond the arc. Nevertheless, they forced them to turn the ball over 15 times for 10 TWU points. TWU did commit 14 turnovers for 16 SEU points.
- The Pioneers dominated the boards, grabbing 42 total rebounds to SEU's 26.
- On the defensive end, TWU held the Hilltoppers to just eight points in the second quarter, which marked the 21st quarter the Pioneers have held an opponent to under 10 points. It also marks the fourth straight game TWU has held their opponent to at least one quarter under 10 points.
- TWU opened the game strong, outscoring SEU 18-14.
- After the Hilltoppers scored four straight points to open the game, Ingram answered by connecting on a tip-in and then hitting a triple off the assist by Patel to draw TWU within two at the 6:12 mark of the first, 7-5.
- At the 4:40 mark of the quarter, the Pioneers took their first lead of the day, 11-9, off a layup by Ingram. Celsur extended the lead, 14-9, with a triple off the assist by Ingram – it was their largest lead of the first quarter.
- After leading 18-14 heading into the second quarter, Patel connected on a jumper off an assist by Hines in the opening 15 seconds of the second quarter to push TWU ahead by six, 20-14.
- A jumper by Elliott at the 4:35 mark gave the Pioneers their first double-digit lead of the night, 28-17. Then, a Kleinhans layup off a fast break with 3:23 left in the half gave TWU their largest lead of the first half, 32-19.
- TWU went into the halftime break ahead by 12, 34-22.
- The Pioneers maintained their lead throughout the second half. They would lead by as much as 14 in the third quarter.
- With a 12-point advantage, 51-39, TWU would head into the fourth quarter. The Pioneers would maintain their double-digit lead throughout the final 10 minutes of action. A made free throw by Hines would put TWU ahead by 20 for the first time of the night, 66-46, with 3:51 remaining in the game.
- TWU's largest lead of the night would be 21 and come from No. 21. Kleinhans hit a free throw with 3:02 on the clock to put TWU ahead 67-46.
- After back-and-forth free throw makes, TWU would claim the win 69-52.
