SHREVEPORT, La. (Feb. 23, 2025) – On Saturday night, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team competed in their eighth meet of the season at Centenary College.
TWU competed against the Ladies for the second time this season. On the road, they posted a 193.475 to win the meet, as Centenary scored a 189.000. It marked the Pioneers' third win of the season and first road win of the season.
At the dual meet, TWU started the night out on the uneven bars, where they posted a 48.250. In the anchor spot,
Kaitlyn Hoiland led the Pioneers with a season high 9.850 to claim the event title.
Brooke Ferrari matched her season high with a 9.775. In the third spot,
Alaina Reid matched her career high with a 9.750. In the lead-off spot,
Bailey Bourgeois scored a 9.675.
For the second rotation, TWU rotated to vault.
Maddy Murphy led the Pioneers' off with a 9.600.
Bailey Upton followed Murphy in the second spot and scored a 9.675. Going third for the Pioneers,
Steelie King posted a 9.600. In her return to the vault lineup,
Trinity Caffey claimed the event title with a 9.7750.
Sophia Isbell placed second with a 9.700. The Pioneers finished vault with a 48.350.
TWU scored a 48.275 in the third rotation on the floor exercise.
Sophie Hernandez claimed the event title with a 9.750. Bourgeois and Upton both tied for second with a pair of 9.700's. Isbell rounded out the Pioneers' top scores with a 9.600.
In the fourth and final rotation, TWU posted their highest event score of the day on the balance beam, scoring a 48.600. Upton started the Pioneers off strong in the lead-off spot with a 9.775, which matched her career high.
Steelie King scored a season high 9.850 to win the event title. The anchor for TWU, Hoiland, matched her season high with a 9.800.
Emma Brkljacic and Hernandez rounded out the counting scores on beam with a pair of 9.600's.
TWU will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 28 at a quad meet hosted by Clemson, featuring New Hampshire, Georgia and Clemson.
