DENVER, Colo. (Feb. 16, 2025) – In their second meet of the weekend, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team competed in a quad meet at the University of Denver.
Denver hosted TWU, Oregon State and Ball State on Sunday afternoon. It marked TWU's seventh meet overall and fourth road meet of the 2025 season.
The Pioneers finished with a 194.200, while the host No. 21 Denver claimed the meet win with a 197.125.
TWU opened the day on floor, where they posted a 48.500.
Sophie Hernandez led the way for the Pioneers in the opening event with a 9.850, matching her season high on the event.
Bailey Bourgeois finished with a 9.750 in the third spot, while
Kami Zarlengo and
Sophia Isbell both added 9.650's. The anchor,
Kyleigh Ghanbari, closed the first rotation with a 9.625.
In the second rotation, the Pioneers posted a 48.575 on vault.
Kaitlyn Hoiland continued her trend of 9.800's or higher in the anchor spot, posting a 9.800 to lead the way for TWU. Isbell, competing in the fifth spot, secured a 9.775.
Bailey Upton and
Steelie King both contributed 9.650's in back-to-back spots in the lineup for the Pioneers.
Alaina Reid got the Pioneers started off strong with a 9.650, and
Maddy Murphy, in her second meet in the vault lineup, posted a 9.650.
On bars, Bourgeois set the tone from the start by matching her career high with a 9.800. Reid and Zarlengo both competed strong routines to post 9.725's.
Brooke Ferrari remained consistent in her fifth lineup spot with a 9.750, and Hoiland put an exclamation point on the event with a 9.850, marking her third meet this season with a 9.825 or higher in the event. The Pioneers scored their highest event score of the day on bars with a 48.850.
For the fourth and final rotation, TWU wrapped up the meet on the balance beam, posting a 48.275.
Emma Brkljacic led the way on the event with a 9.850, marking her second straight meet with a 9.850 or higher on beam. King displayed a solid routine, scoring a 9.700, and posting the second highest score for the Pioneers on the event.

TWU will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Centenary at 4 p.m.
