DENTON, Texas (March 9, 2025) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team closed their home 2025 schedule with history on Sunday night in Kitty Magee Arena.
As the Pioneers celebrated six incredible seniors, every single person on the team brought their best to make the final home meet of the season unforgettable.
TWU met NC State in KMA and narrowly fell to the Wolfpack. The Pioneers posted a program record of a 196.600, while NC State scored a 196.675.
TWU started the historical night out on vault.
Alaina Reid led the Pioneers off with a 9.675.
Bailey Upton and senior
Steelie King came out strong in the second and third spots in the lineup with a pair of 9.775s. Senior
Trinity Caffey shone on senior day with a 9.800 on vault. In the fifth spot,
Sophia Isbell matched her season high with a 9.825. Senior
Kaitlyn Hoiland anchored the vault lineup and started off her senior day with a 9.800 on vault. The Pioneers matched their season high on vault with a 48.975.
Then, TWU rotated over to bars and matched their program record on the apparatus with a 49.325. Three Pioneers scored career highs in the rotation.
Bailey Bourgeois started off the bars lineup with a career high 9.875. Senior
Lainey Hunt displayed an exciting senior day performance, scoring a career high 9.850. In the third spot,
Kami Zarlengo matched her career high with a 9.825.
Brooke Ferrari kept the high scores going with a 9.800. Returning from injury,
Caroline Bowns reentered the lineup ready to make a statement, as she scored a career high 9.900 to place second in the event. Hoiland continued her impressive senior day by matching her season high with a 9.875 to close out the bars lineup.
The Pioneers kept the momentum going on the balance beam with a season high 49.175. The reigning MIC Newcomer of the Week, Upton got the Pioneers started with a career high 9.825. Isbell followed Upton with another career high of a 9.825. In the third spot,
Sophie Hernandez matched her career high to tie for second in the event with a 9.850. In her final meet in KMA, King competed with fire and scored a season high 9.825. Hoiland rounded out her final event in KMA with a season high 9.850 to tie for second in the event.
The floor party was a must-attend event for TWU in the final rotation, as the Pioneers closed out the night with a 49.125. Hernandez tied for the event title with a season high 9.875.
Kyleigh Ghanbari and Upton both displayed veteran-poise, as they both scored 9.850s. Zarlengo matched her career high with a 9.775, and Isbell closed out her impressive three-event day with a 9.775.
Following the historical day, the Pioneers ended the meet by celebrating their six seniors, who have set records and made history in the maroon and white.

It was such a joy to see our seniors set this amazing record on their final home meet. We are looking forward to continuing to build off this meet, as we head to Nebraska this weekend."
The Pioneers will head to Nebraska for a Quad Meet on Saturday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. TWU will compete against Nebraska, Iowa State and Temple. It will mark the Pioneers final meet of the regular season.
